Farah Baker tiene 16 años y vive en Gaza. Cada día narra lo que está ocurriendo en su ciudad, lo que ve por su ventana y lo que siente en cada momento a través de Twitter. Farah relata con imágenes y vídeos día a día el desarrollo de la ofensiva israelí en el barrio donde ella reside en la Franja de Gaza.
Con más de 134.000 seguidores en Twitter y más de 7.000 tweet, Farah ha pasado de ser una persona que cuenta lo que ve y siente, a una especie de reportera que da a conocer a tiempo real lo que está ocurriendo desde dentro. En un mes ha sumado 131.225 seguidores, según las estadísticas de la herramienta Twitter Counter, el día 8 de julio —que fue cuando empezó la ofensiva israelí—, Farah tenía 1.500 seguidores, y casi un mes después tiene 134.534.
Esta joven palestina ya había vivido dos ofensivas israelíes en Gaza antes, la Operación Plomo Fundido en 2008 y la Operación Pilar de Defensa en 2012, según una entrevista en el medio NBC. "Yo solía decir que la guerra de 2008 fue la peor, pero después de las noches que he vivido, yo diría que este es el peor porque realmente sentí que podía morir en cualquier momento", dijo a NBC News.
Farah ha narrado todo lo que estaba viviendo desde que empezó esta nueva ofensiva en Gaza. "Estoy en el balcón y puedo escuchar más de 10 bombas por minuto que iluminan el cielo con colores blancos y naranjas #Gaza", "¡Mi hermana de seis años está llorando y gritando! Le estamos diciendo que ha sido un globo que ha estallado, pero no nos cree", "La bomba ha estallado en una parte del hospital Al-Shifa, lo que significa que estaba enfrente de mi casa #Gaza", son algunas de sus narraciones.
La noche del 28 de julio escribió en Twitter que pensaba que iba a morir por los bombardeos que estaba viendo y escuchando. "Están bombardeando mucho en mi zona. Esta es la peor noche de la guerra. Sólo quiero que sepáis que puedo convertirme en un mártir en cualquier momento", "Esto es en mi zona. No puedo parar de llorar. Podría morir esta noche" escribió.
