El videojuego Little Big Planet, cuya mayor virtud es la oportunidad que da a los jugadores de desarrollar su creatividad, ha sido el gran beneficiado en las recién anunciadas nominaciones a los premios de la Academia de las Artes y Ciencias Interactivas (AIAS), que se entregarán en Las Vegas el próximo 19 de febrero.
Este título de Sony para su PlayStation 3 ha acumulado un total de diez nominaciones, entre las que se encuentran la de Mejor Juego del Año, Mejor Juego del Año para Consola, Mejor Innovación o el curioso Mejor Actuación de Personaje por el muñeco de trapo Sackboy.
Otros títulos que han conseguido gran éxito de crítica y ventas en 2008 y que han recibido numerosas nominaciones para estos premios han sido Gears of Wars 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Fallout 3 o Fable II. Éstos son algunos de los nominados (ver la lista completa en la página oficial de los premios):
