Morir de amor

Te gustan las auténticas historias de amor? ¿Crees que son más interesantes las del pasado o las de ahora?

Hace mucho tiempo existían en América del Sur dos tribus rivales: los tupi y los guaraní. Siempre estaban en lucha y nunca conseguían llegar a ningún acuerdo. Salvo una chica guaraní y un chico tupi que estaban locamente enamorados y que se veían en secreto en el bosque, dentro de un gran árbol hueco. Allí, una tarde, antes de que estallase una nueva guerra, se juraron amor eterno. El joven tupi luchó en la batalla hasta que fue hecho prisionero por la tribu guaraní. Le ataron y le encerraron en una choza. Cuando la joven se enteró, se le rompió el corazón y se lo contó todo a sus padres.

Pero éstos no entendieron aquel amor prohibido y no la hicieron caso. La chica, desesperada, abandonó su casa y se fue al bosque. Allí se encaramó en el árbol hueco.

Pasaron varias semanas y su familia, preocupada, insistía para que bajase, pero la chica lo único que hacía era llorar sin consuelo. Hasta que el hechicero de la tribu inventó una mentira para que bajase: le dijo que su enamorado había muerto. La chica dio un extraño grito de dolor y después desapareció para siempre. Desde entonces anidó en el árbol un pájaro desconocido, y cuyo canto era igual a un llanto: se le llamó Urutaú.

Manifestar el dolor a través del llanto puede ser una buena terapia. Pero, ¡ojo! Hay que saber parar a tiempo.

Dying of Love

Do you like real love stories? Do you think the ones from the past or the ones from today are more interesting?

A long time ago in South America there were two rival tribes: the Tupis and the Guaranís. They were always fighting and were never able to reach any kind of agreement. Except for a Guaraní girl and a Tupi boy who were head over heels in love and met secretly in the forest, inside a big hollow tree. There one day, before a new war broke out, they swore eternal love. The Tupi boy fought in the war until he was made a prisoner by the Guaraní tribe. They tied him up inside a hut. When the young girl found out, her heart broke and she told everything to her parents.

But they didn’t understand that forbidden love and didn’t pay attention to her. The girl, desperate, left her house and went to the forest. There she climbed into the hollow tree.

Several weeks passed and her family, worried, insisted that she come down, but the only thing the girl did was to weep inconsolably. Until the tribe’s witch doctor invented a lie so that she would come down: he told her that her loved one had died. The girl gave a strange cry of pain and then disappeared forever. Ever since then there nested in the tree an unknown bird whose call was just like a cry: it was called the Urutaú.

To express pain through crying can be a good therapy. But be careful! You have to be able to stop in time.
